Korea-Vietnam Mine Action Project Brief (2021-2025)

Landmines, cluster munitions and other Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) continue to pose a threat to the lives and livelihoods of the people of Viet Nam. The Korea-Viet Nam Mine Action Project aims to strengthen the governance and management of national mine action activities to promote human safety and

development in contaminated areas.

The project is aligned with the Socio Economic Development Plan (SEDP) 2016-2020, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with particular relevance to SDG 11 and SDG 16, the 2017-2021 One

Strategic Plan between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the United Nations in Viet Nam. Specifically, the project aims to support the Government of Viet Nam in the implementation of the National Mine Action Program for 2010 – 2025, known as the Program 504, through programmatic and technical support necessary to sustainably pursue the targets set out in this

ambitious Program.
