Overview

Korea is well-known for its state-of-the-art technological capacity in the world. In fact, the Korean government’s e-government system topped the ranking of UN’s e-government survey in 2012. Korea’s rags-to-riches development history and capacity in information technology are inspirational for partner countries. KOICA is providing targeted assistance to partner countries for developing human resources specialized in ICT and strengthening ICT capacity. In particular, KOICA’s core sector projects in public administration, industry and energy and education have components specifically designed to address the ICT needs of partner countries. Ranging from maternal health projects utilizing mobile technology to e-learning system projects aiming at increased access to education, KOICA is making multidimensional efforts to enhance its effectiveness and efficiency.
