The Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA), a quasi-government organization in charge of grant aid programs, held a ground breaking ceremony of the ‘Mine Reclamation Technology Education Center’ in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

In cooperation with the Mine Reclamation Corporation(MIRECO) of the Republic of Korea, KOICA established the technology education center as part of the ‘Capacity Building and Establishment of Masterplan for Mine Reclamation Technology in Mongolia(2014-2018/ USD 7.8 million).

KOICA commits nearly $2.8 billion to establish the three-storied building with a total ground area of 2,135㎡. The education center will be comprised of lecture rooms, library, laboratory, etc. The project is for the restoration of damage and the reinforcement of prevention capabilities in the field of mine, which is the primary industry in Mongolia.
