KOICA World Friends Education Center Holds the 4th Opening Ceremony for
‘World Friends KOICA Volunteers(the 116th)
KOICA(Korea International Cooperation Agency) held the 4th opening ceremony for the ‘World Friends KOICA Volunteers(the 116th) at the World Friends Yeongwol Education Center on August 4.
In order to build capacity and be qualified as KOICA overseas volunteers, 72 people participated in the 8-week-long domestic training. They completed the whole training, which includes education on international development cooperation, English and local languages, disaster and safety experience, specialized positions, etc. They will be dispatched to a total of 15 countries such as Ecuador, Uzbekistan, East Timor, Uganda, etc and perform voluntary services for 2 years.
To promote common prosperity and advance better quality of life among the world,
the 17 Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) adopted by world leaders in 2015 have been officially came into force since January 2016. KOICA has also mobilized efforts to improve the quality of life of local people most in need by dispatching overseas volunteers and transferring our technology and knowledge.
