KOICA Holds Entrance Ceremony for 3rd KOICA-UNV Youth University Volunteers
Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the lead Korean government agency dedicated to providing grant aid programs, held an entrance ceremony for the ‘3rd KOICA-UNV Youth University Volunteers’ on January 8 at the World Friends Seoul Education Center.
From now, 28 preliminary volunteers will receive basic education and practical training for 4 weeks in Korea. Since the early February, they will be dispatched to local offices under the United Nations (UN) affiliated organizations in East Timor, Myanmar, Bolivia, Senegal, Kenya, Uzbekistan, Fiji, etc and work there for about 6 months.
KOICA-UNV Youth University Volunteers is a program launched in 2015 which aims to enlarge opportunities for youth to enter international organizations and to enhance their global competitiveness in cooperation with the United Nations Volunteers programme (UNV). Every June, KOICA recruits university or graduate students and after conducting document screening, interview, and webcam interview with the UN side, preliminary volunteers are finally selected.
