Volunteer Service
How much are volunteers paid for their service?
As an experience of a lifetime, Korean volunteers are given the opportunity to make real contributions to the lives of people who need help. The experience gained by the end of a volunteer’s term of service lasts a lifetime and cannot be measured in financial terms.

While stationed overseas, volunteers receive a stipend for housing and other living expenses based on the cost of living in the country they serve.

To aid in their emersion back into Korean society when they return, KOVs are provided with a domestic deposit of 400,000 KRW per month for each month they were abroad. This payment is a lump sum payment that is provided at the end of their service.
