They go through a two-week training camp in Korea, in which they are instructed on the principles of volunteer service and the spirit of volunteerism. Once overseas, KOVs receive eight weeks of local training in which they learn about the language and culture of their host country. These localized lessons and programs are designed to ease the volunteer into their new living environment.
