The
procedures are as follows:
For
short-term courses (lasting two or three weeks)
1)
Choose a training program offered by KOICA
2)
KOICA Headquarters shall request recommendations for applicants from a KOICA
overseas office or Korean Embassy
3)
The KOICA overseas office or Korean Embassy shall request recommendations for
applicants from partner country representatives
4)
Prospective applicants can apply for a course by completing the application
form. The completed application form should be sent to the nearest KOICA
overseas office or Korean Embassy. Applications sent to KOICA Headquarters will
not be accepted.
5)
The KOICA overseas office or Korean Embassy shall send the list of recommended
applicants to KOICA Headquarters in Korea.
6)
KOICA Headquarters shall have a training institute screen the submitted
applications.
7)
The training institute shall inform the screening results to KOICA
Headquarters.
8)
KOICA Headquarters shall approve applicants for the course
9)
The KOICA overseas office or Korean Embassy shall conduct an orientation session
for the selected applicants before they depart for Korea.
10)
KOICA Headquarters shall handle questions regarding Visas, Airline tickets,
etc.
For
long-term courses (Masters Degree Programs)
1)
Choose a training program offered by KOICA
2)
KOICA Headquarters shall request recommendations for applicants from a KOICA
overseas office or Korean Embassy
3)
The KOICA overseas office or Korean Embassy shall request recommendations for
applicants from partner country representatives
4)
Applicants should submit:
a) TWO (2) applications forms for the KOICA long-term training program
b) Graduate school application form
c) TWO (2) letters of recommendation
d) Resume/CV
e) Transcript of undergraduate studies
f) Copy of undergraduate degree and identification photos
g) TWO (2) passport sized photos
h) TOEFL or IELTS test scores (if available)
I) Certificate of employment (if available)
5)
The KOICA overseas office or Korean Embassy shall send the list of recommended
applicants to KOICA Headquarters in Korea
6)
The application forms officially submitted through the KOICA overseas office or
Korean Embassy will be evaluated by the respective Graduate School. Afterwards,
a telephone interview will be conducted through the contact information provided
on the application form.
7)
After the graduateschool evaluation process, KOICA will conduct another
evaluation process (based on the relevance of the degree, work experience,
relevance of the work).The accepted candidates as well as the runners-up will be
notified through the embassy.(The runners-up will be accepted if the accepted
candidates decide not to go.)
8)
