The efficiency of the local government has tremendous influence on the wealth of a country, which is why management of local government is considered so significant. As the volume of a country grows bigger, it becomes harder for the central government to take care of all the on-going issues in the country, and the need to divert governmental authority increases.
This course consists of lectures, country report presentation, study visits and various cultural programs. The participants will acquire specialized knowledge about local autonomy and Local Government Financial Management and have opportunities
to understand Korean culture through a field trip, home visit, etc.
The history of Korean local autonomy may be relatively short, but Korea has achieved plenty in that time. Through this program, KOICA and NIPA are willing to share these experiences and information with the program participants.
