The 1st training course on Korean Language(Beginning Level)

Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA) plans to conduct a program of the "the 1st training course on Korean Language" from 1 April to 17 June (78 days), as a part of training programs for establishing the cooperative relationship with ASEAN Countries, Eastern European & CIS Countries, and Middle East Countries in 2004.

18 participants including public officials, engaged in the business related to Korea, students and professors at the department of Korean Language, from 11 countries (Belarus, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Egypt, Indonesia, Laos, Latvia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Peru, Romania, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraina) are invited.

This program is designed to not only provide participants with better Korean language proficiency but also promote exchanges and cooperations between Korea and participant countries by introducing Korean life and culture and contribute to raise human resources who will make a contribution to the economic and diplomatic cooperation with Korea in the future.

This program is composed of indoor lectures, study visits and field trips.
Lectures are about Korean conversation, grammar, reading, listening, and writing. Also, the lecture on Korean culture will be given by the Institute of International Education of Korea University. Participants will have a chance to visit historical and industrial sites in Gyeongju and Ulsan City etc.

Especially, this Korean Language Program offers participants home-stays where participants will stay with Korean families until their departure. Through home-stay program, participants will be able to have better understanding of Korean family life, and increase the effectiveness of Korean language study and culture.

Through this program, participants is expected to better understand Korean language and culture, thereby to lay the foundations of friendlier relationships between Korea and participant countries.
