Economic Development and Market Economy
KOICA conducts a training course on "Economic Development and Market Economy" as a part of the Korean Government's Grant Aid and Technical Cooperation Program 2004.

This course has been designed to promote cooperative international relationship with participants' countries by sharing Korean economic development experience with them and to help participants make policies for transition towards open market economy to achieve economic development.

The purpose of this course is to enhance economic managerial capability of the participants by comparing and sharing experiences in economic policy-making and institutional management in participating countries and Korea.

Therefore, participants are going to take various lectures, discussion sessions and study visits to evaluate national development policies critically, and at the same time improve their management skills.

During the training course, they plan to visit industrial sites(Pohang Iron & Steel Company, Hyundai Motors Company, Hyundai Heavy Industrials) to observe Korea's economic development as well as visiting ancient remains of the historic city Gyeongju.

Through this course, participants are expected to share their knowledge and experiences together and contribute to the reciprocal and mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Korea and participants' countries.
