KOICA conducts a training program "Capacity Development for Economic Development - SMEs Promotion (Mongolia)" for 13 participants from Mongolia as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

o Course Title : Capacity Development for Economic Development - SMEs Promotion

                      (Mongolia)

o Duration : March 3 - March 18, 2010 (16 days)

o Venue : Seoul & Seongnam city, Korea

o Number of Participants : 13 Participants from Mongolia

o Training Institution : Korea Institute for Development Strategy

o Training Participants

- Senior level government officials and/or managerial-level staff members involved with
   SMEs policies and strategies

- Officials who will continue to work in the related field for at least 3 years after this program

o Course Objectives

- To understand Korea¡¯s economic development strategy and the role of SMEs in its growth

- To contribute to promotion of SMEs in Mongolia based on Korea¡¯s experience and to discuss
   potential cooperative efforts between Korea and Mongolia

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

A. LECTURES

1. Korea¡¯s Economic Development Strategies and Implications for Mongolia

2. Promotion of SMEs in Korea

3. Trade Facilitation for the Development of SMEs, etc

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

 a) informed policies or issues that you¡¯re interested in that are related to SME policy

    and system in Mongolia

 b) issues in SME policies and strategies to promote SMEs in Mongolia.

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Samsung Electronics, The Small & Medium Business Corporation (SBC), etc.

- Daedeok Innipolis, Gumi Industrial Complex, POSCO, Hyundai Heavy Industries, etc.

- Non-verbal Performance "NANTA", Korean Folk Village, Gyeongbok Palace, etc.
