Mineral Resources Exploration and GIS Remote Sensing

KOICA conducts a training program "Mineral Resources Exploration and GIS Remote Sensing" for 14 participants from 8 countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

¤· Course Title : Mineral Resources Exploration and GIS Remote Sensing

¤· Duration : March 4(Thursday)~ March 20(Saturday), 2010

¤· Venue : Daejon-city, Korea

¤· Number of Participants and Countries: 14 persons from 11 countries

(Uzbekistan2 Vietnam2 Myanmar2 Philippines2 Kazakhstan3 East-timor1 Turkmenistan1 Mongolia1)

¤· Training Participants : Government officials, researchers or engineers with sound experience in
    the mineral resources related field  

¤· Training Institution : Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM)

¤· Course Objectives :

1) To transfer professional knowledge of ore genesis as well as the modeling and exploration of
    mineral resources

2) To transfer the advanced technology of GIS and Remote Sensing

3) To establish an international network of professionals and officials related to mineral resources

¤ý Mineral Potential Mapping using GIS

¤ý Applied Geophysics for Mineral, Engineering and Environment

¤ý Analysis of Stable Isotopes
