KOICA conducts a training program "Soil & Water Quality Management for Sustainable Agricultural Development" for 20 participants from Ethiopia as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

o Duration : March 21 - April 10, 2010 (21 days)

o Venue : Seongnam and Suwon city, Korea

o Number of Participants : 20 Participants from Ethiopia

- National or local government officials, preferably middle manager, engaged in the field of

  Agricultural Soil & Water

o Course Objectives

- To offer various technologies on management of soil fertility and agricultural water

- To show how to analyze soil and water and proper land cultivation

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

1. Overview of Korean Agriculture

2. Water Management to Improve Agricultural Productivity

3. Soli Management to Increase Agricultural Productivity

4. Rural Development and Saemaul Undong

5. Workshop on Rural Development

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

a) Introduction of country and Agriculture

b) Recent Agricultural Polices and Major Projects

c) History of Agricultural Research and Extension

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- SNational Agro-biodiversity Center, Korea National College of Agriculture & Fishery,

   Agricultural Exhibition Hall etc

- The Saemangeum Project Site, Hyundai Motors Co.

- Korean Folk Village, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, etc.
