Economic Development Strategy for High-level Officials

KOICA conducts a training program "Economic Development Strategy for High-level Officials" for 11 participants from Tanzania as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Economic Development Strategy for High-level Officials

o Duration : March 25 - April 3, 2010 (10 days)

o Venue : Seongnam and Seoul, Korea

o Number of Participants : 11 Participants from Tanzania

o Training Institution : Korea Institute for Development Strategy

 

o Training Participants

- Be High-level government officials and policy experts, engaged in the field of economic

   development

- Be expected to work in the related field for at least one year after this program

 

o Course Objectives

- To understand economic development policies and strategies of Korea

- To improve technical knowledge and capacity of participants in policy planning and

   management of economic development

- Draw an action plan from the lectures and study visits throughout the course

- To discuss potential cooperation between Korea and Tanzania

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

A. LECTURES

 1. Comparative Assessment of Tanzania¡¯s M¡¯Kukuta and Korea¡¯s Economic Development

    Strategy

 2. Promotion of Export and FDI for Economic Development

 3. Infrastructure of Transport and Communication

 4. Workshops for action plan

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

- Comparative Assessment of Tanzania¡¯s M¡¯Kukuta and Korea¡¯s Economic Development

   Strategy

- Promotion of Export and FDI for Economic Development

- Infrastructure of Transport and Communication

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Incheon Port Authority, Incheon Free Economic Zone, Saemaul Undong Central Training

   Institute

- POSCO, Hyundai Motors Co.

- Korean Folk Museum, NANTA, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, etc.
