Rural Development (Nepal)

KOICA conducts a training program "Rural Development (Nepal)" for 15 participants from Nepal as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Rural Development (Nepal)

o Duration : March 29 - April 16, 2010 (19 days)

o Venue : Seoul & Seongnam, Korea

o Number of Participants : 15 Participants from Nepal

 

o Training Institution : Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI)

 

o Training Participants

- National or local government officials, preferably middle manager level, in the field of

   rural development

 

o Course Objectives

 a) To understand rural development through Korea¡¯s Experience: the history, culture, and

     development of rural villages.

 b) To build the capacity to analyze and formulate agricultural and rural development.

 c) To deepen knowledge of rural development, especially for making processes and applying

     it to participants¡¯ countries

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

A. LECTURES

1. Korean Agricultural Cooperatives

2. Historical Changes in Korean Rural development Policies

3. Rural Development in Korean and Saemaul Movement

4. Rural Development Policy & WTO, Korean Experience

5. Rural Development and Industrialization in Korea, etc

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

 - Informed policies or issues that you¡¯re interested in relating to the Rural

   Development in Nepal

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Guri Agricultural & Marine Products Wholesale Marketing Management Co. Korea Rural

  Corporation, Korea Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Inc., etc.

- Gongju Agricultural Technology Center, Jeonju Hanokmaeal, Nongsan Trading Co. LTD, etc.

- Non-verbal Performance "NANTA", Korean Folk Village, Gyeongok Palace, Itaewon, etc.
