Railway Policy and Management Program for SAARC member states

KOICA conducts a training program "Railway Policy and Management Program for SAARC member states" for 16 participants from 8 countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

¤· Course Title: Railway Policy and Management Program for SAARC member states

¤· Duration: 2010. 3. 30(Tue.) ~ 4. 17(Sat.) (19 days)

¤· Venue: Uiwang & Seongnam, Korea

¤· Training Institution: IRaTCA (International Railway Training for UIC Asia)

¤· Number of Participants and Countries: 16 participants from 8 countries

- Afghanistan(2), Bangladesh(2), Bhutan(2), India(2), Maldives(2), Nepal(2), Pakistan(2),

  Sri Lanka(2)

¤· Training Participants:

- Government officials with at least 5 years of experience in the Railway-related field

¤· Course Objectives:

- To help railway managers working in railways industry to develop advanced Railway

   operation strategies

- To facilitate the development of railways in Vietnam through lectures and field trips on

   Korea railway systems

- To exchange information about railways and strengthen relationship between two countries

- To promote understanding and mutual relationships between Korea and Vietnam

 

 o The program consists of 3 parts;

A. LECTURES

- Management System of KORAIL

- Human Resources Development System

- Railway efficient management system

- Status and outlook of Asian Railwayst

- KORAIL marketing system  

- Present status of rolling stock system and Maintenance

- International freight railway system

- Cutting-edge technology of rolling stock

- Private investment in railway  

- Korean technology and new traffic system

- Railway construction and infrastructure Maintenance

- Railway electric system

- Railway safety management system

- KORAIL Human Resources Development Institute (HRDI)

- Korea Railroad Museum

- Metropolitan Rolling Stock Depot

- Seoul Station

- Busan Station, Gwang Myeong Station

 

C. Field Trip

  -Hyundai Motors, Hyundai Rotem.Co, Hyundai Heavy Industries. Co, Busan Cultural Sites
