Disaster Prevention and Management (Bangladesh)

KOICA conducts a training program "Disaster Prevention and Management (Bangladesh)" for 15 participants from Bangladesh as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Disaster Prevention and Management (Bangladesh)

o Duration :April 29 (Thu.) ~ May 20 (Thu.), 2010 (22days)

o Venue : Seongnam & Cheonan, Korea

o Number of Participants : 15 Participants from Bangladesh

 

o Training Institute : National Disaster Management Institute (NDMI)

 

o Training Participants

- Should be government or subsidiary organization officials preferably in the mid-senior

   level or higher

- Should be public enterprises' officials preferably in the senior level or higher

 

o Course Objectives

-  To present the enhanced disaster management system and instruct knowledge, skill

   and ability to respond diverse emergency related to floods and drought

-  To lessen the damage from disaster and to promote the security level of the

   participating countries with disaster prevention system

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

A. LECTURES

 a) Session I : Disaster Management Policy

 b) Session II : Natural Disaster Management

 c) Session III : Disaster Management System

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

   a)   Disaster Management-related law & system of the country

   b)   Disaster Management-related organization of the central & local government

   c)   Present policy and outlook of Disaster Management system in the country

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Samsung Electronics, LG Telecom Company, NEMA Status Control Center,Han-river Flood  

  Control Center, Seoul Emergency Operation Center, Korea Meteorological Agency,       

  Sihwa Tidal Power Plant, Daegu Safety Theme Park, KIMFT, etc.

- POSCO, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Motors Co.

- Korean Folk Village, Worldcup stadium, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, etc.
