Eco-village Planning and Maintenance

KOICA conducts a training program "Eco-village Planning and Maintenance" for 20 participants from 10 countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Eco-village Planning and Maintenance

o Duration : May 06 - May 21, 2010 (16 days)

o Venue : Seoul & Seongnam, Korea

o Number of Participants : 20 Participants from 10 countries

 - Bangladesh1, Cambodia2, Ghana2, Laos2, Nepal2, Palestine2, Sri Lanka1, Sudan2,

    Uzbekistan2, Zambia2

o Training Institution : World Toilet Association

 

o Training Participants

- an official governor engaged in public health and sanitation, especially related in toilet industry

 

o Course Objectives

- to introduce the skills and know-how about Eco-village Planning and Maintenance In Korea

- to discuss operation of sewage and waste disposal technology

- to develop ideas of toilet maintenance for eco-village

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

A. LECTURES

1. Overview of Korean Eco-village planning

2. Restoration of streams in eco-friendly way and management of toilets

3. Operation and treatment of sewage system

4. Eco-friendly sewage treatment plant

5. Low-Carbon green growth city

6. Environmentally friendly rainwater management

7. Advanced energy saving technologies in a toilet

8. Eco-friendly construction and design of toilet

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

- Major issues & policies of your interest related to sanitation issue and toilet

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Jungnang Sewage Treatment Center, Hwado Sewage Treatment Center-Piano Public

  Toilet, RDF system Center, etc.

- Hahoe Village in Andong, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, etc.
