KOICA conducts a training program "Small & Medium Enterprises and Economic Development (Francophone)" for 20 participants from 8 countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Small & Medium Enterprises and Economic Development (Francophone)

o Duration : May 9 - May 29, 2010 (21 days)

o Venue : Seongnam and Ansan city, Korea

o Number of Participants : 20 Participants from 8 Countries

o Training Institution : Small & Medium Business Corporation

 

o Training Participants

- National or local government officials, preferably middle manager, engaged in the field of
  SME promotion and economic development

 

o Course Objectives

- To enhance participants overall knowledge about Korea's economic development and
   SME Policies

- To share the experience in developing the economy

- To enhance participants overall knowledge about the roles of Korean SMEs

- To provide a general road map regarding economic development and SME policies and
   management

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

A. LECTURES

1. Korea's Economic Development Overview

2. Financial and Capital Procurement for SMEs

3. Tax System for SMEs Promotion

4. E-Governemnt System

5. Economic Development and Changes in SME Policies

6. Market Development and Revitalization for SME Development

7. SME Development Strategy in Developing Countries

8. Causal Relationship between SME development and Entrepreneurship

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

a) Brief introduction of the organization represented by the participant

b) Status of economy and SMEs in the home country

c) Programs for SME support in the home country

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Ansan Business Incubato, SME Technology Center, Korea Exchange, etc.

- POSCO, Hyundai Motors, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Daedeok Innopolios, etc.

- Nurimaru APEC House, Korean Folk Village, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, etc.
