Housing & Urban Policy and Construction Techniques

KOICA conducts a training program "Housing & Urban Policy and Construction Techniques" for 15 participants from 9 countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Housing & Urban Policy and Construction Techniques

o Duration : May 9 - May 29, 2010 (21 days)

o Venue : Seongnam city, Korea

o Number of Participants : 15 Participants from 9 countries

 - Colombia 1, Ecuador 2, Ethiopia 2, Indonesia 2, Kazakhstan 1, Kenya 1, Palestine 2,

    Uzbekistan 2, Yemen 2  

o Training Institution : Korea Land & Housing Corporation

 

o Training Participants

- Should be government officials preferably in the mid-senior or higher level

- Should be public enterprises¡¯ officials preferably in the senior or higher level

 

o Course Objectives

 - To provide general knowledge about the housing and urban management policy in Korea
    in order for the participants and government officials to use the information to establish

    their own housing and urban policy to overcome their domestic concerns.

 - To provide the participants with more opportunitiesto understand the issues on housing

    areas in order to enhance professional experience.

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

A. LECTURES

1. Roles of Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH)

2. Korean Economic Development

3. Housing Policy in Korea

4. Residential Site Planning and Design ,etc

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

a) Brief introduction of the organization represented by the participant

b) Present status and future prospects of the urban policy in your country

c) Method of implementation and Procedure of Urban Project

d) Housing Status in your country

e) Governmental interventions in the Housing Market in your country

f) Questions on the topic

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

 - New Towns(Bundang, Pangyo), Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements,

   PPP Project SITE "META-POLIS", etc

 - POSCO, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Motors Co.

 - Korean Folk Village, Namdaemun Market, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace,

  Non-verbal performance "NANTA", etc.
