Railway Management and Operations (Philippines)

KOICA conducts a training program "Railway Management and Operations (Philippines)" for 13 participants from Philippines as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Railway Management and Operations (Philippines)

o Duration : May 17 - June 4, 2010 (19 days)

o Venue : Uiwang & Seongnam, Korea

o Number of Participants : 13 Participants from Philippines

 - Philippines 13

o Training Institution : International Railway Training Center for UIC Asia (IRaTCA) in Korea

   Railroad Corporation (KORAIL)

 

o Training Participants

- Government officials with at least 5 years of experience in the Railway-related field

 

o Course Objectives

- To help railway managers working in railways industry to develop advanced Railway

   operation strategies

- To facilitate the development of railways in Philippines through lectures and field trips on

   Korea railway systems

- To exchange information about railways and strengthen relationship between two countries

- To promote understanding and mutual relationships between Korea and Philippines

4. Management improvement system

5. Status and outlook of Asian Railways

6. International railway logistics

7. Private investment in railway

11. Train Traffic Control System

12. Status of rolling stock system and Maintenance

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

a) Operation status and action plan of your railways

b) Transportation status

c) Vision including future global Railway strategies

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Guro CTC, Goyang KTX depot, Seoul station, etc

- Hyundai Rotem, Hyundai heavy industry, Hyundai Motors, International market, Jagalchi

   fish market, Aquarium, Nurimaru, Busan station, Gwang-myeong station, etc

- Gyeongbok Palace, National Folk Museum, N-Seoul Tower, Watch a Non-Verbal

  Performance 'NANTA', Insadong, Namdaemun Market, Yoo's Family, National Museum, etc.
