Economic Development Strategy for Afghanistan (UNDP Joint Training Program)

KOICA conducts a training program "Economic Development Strategy for Afghanistan (UNDP Joint Training Program)" for 20 participants from Afghanistan as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Economic Development Strategy for Afghanistan (UNDP Joint Training Program)

o Duration : May 17 - May 31, 2010 (15 days)

o Venue : Seongnam and Seoul, Korea

o Number of Participants : 20 participants from Afghanistan

o Training Institution : Legal Research and Training Institute

o Training Participants

- Be Director level government official, scholar, or researcher with at least 3 years of

  experience in the related field of economic planning

o Course Objectives

- To enhance the capacity of planning and evaluating economic development strategy

   for Afghanistan by introducing the success/failure of the Korean economic

   management strategy

- To provide a theoretical framework about role of government, industrial infrastructure

   and HRD policy and to understand their impacts on the economic development

 

o The program consists of 3 parts;

1. Government Reform and Administration Process Simplification

2. Korea's Economic Development Experience

3. Export Promotion and Policy Coordination

4. Human Resource Development Policy

5. National Development Capacity Enhancement: focus on Rural Development Movement

6. Infrastructure Development Strategy

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

a) General Background

b) Organization

c) General Economic Conditions

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Saemaul Undong Central Training Institute, Education Research Industry Cluster Ansan,

  Incheon Free Economic Zone, Incheon Bridge, etc

- POSCO, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Motors Co.

- N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, etc.
