Agricultural Development for African Countries

KOICA conducts a training program "Agricultural Development for African Countries" for 11 participants from 4 countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Agricultural Development for African Countries

o Duration : May 13 - September 30, 2010 (141 days)

o Venue : Asan city, Korea

o Number of Participants : 11 Participants from 4 countries

 - Kenya3, Rwanda3, Tanzania3, Uganda2   

o Training Institution : Asan City

 

o Training Participants

- Farmers, Farm Experts, or Farm-related public employees with sound experience in the

  agricultural fieldl

 

o Course Objectives

 - To provide capacity development to trainees and familiarize them with agricultural techniques

    through various in-field practices and, ultimately, to prepare them for the competent

    management of agricultural facilities

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

A. LECTURES

1. Rice Farming

2. Farm Machinery

3. Livestock Production&Horticulture

4. Information Technology Training ,etc

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

a) Report Status, Issues and Policies of your interest related to the Agriculture of Your Country

b) Choose a theme among rice farming, farm machinery and livestock production.

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

 - Swine Farm , Poultry Farm , Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Laboratory ,

   Chungju Apple Laboratory , etc.

 - POSCO, Hyundai Motors Co. etc.

 - Korean Folk Village, Insa-dong, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace,

  Non-verbal performance "NANTA", etc.
