KOICA conducts a training program "Road Construction & Maintenance" for 18 participants from 10 countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Road Construction & Maintenance

o Duration : June 3 - June 18, 2010 (16 days)

o Venue : Seongnam city, Korea

o Number of Participants : 18 Participants from 10 countries

 - Angola(1), Cameroon (2), Cote d'lvoire (2), Indonesia(2), Kenya(2), Kyrgyzstan(1), Nigeria(2),

   Philippines(2), Zambia(2), Zimbabwe(2)

 

o Training Institution : Korea Expressway Corporation

 

o Training Participants

- Should be government officials preferably in the mid-senior level or higher

- Should be public enterprises' officials preferably in the senior lever or higher

 

o Course Objectives

 - To foster road and traffic specialists by experiencing the advanced knowledge and

   technology of Korea

 - To contribute to the progress of participating countries in the road sector

   through human resource development

 - To boost mutual understanding and cooperation between Korea and participating

   countries

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

A. LECTURES

1. Overview of KEC

2. Road Construction & Maintenance

3. Operation & Traffic Management

4. Discussion, etc.

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

   a) Introduction to your organization

   b) Road Policy

   c) Road System

   d) Introduction of main road projects

   e) Road-related unique system in your esteemed country

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

 - Traffic Information Center, Seoul Toll Office, Sudokwon Construction Office,

   Seohae Bridge, etc.

 - Hyundai Motors Co., SK Energy, Hyundai Heavy Industries, etc.

 - Korean Folk Village, Itaewon, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, Non-verbal

   performance "NANTA", etc.
