Water Resources Development and Management

KOICA conducts a training program "Water Resources Development and Management" for 17 participants from 9 Countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Water Resources Development and Management

o Duration : June 11 (Thu.) - June 26 (Sat.), 2010 (17 days)

o Venue : Seoul , Korea

o Number of Participants : 17 Participants from 9 Countries

                          Cameroon (2), Kazakhstan (2), Kenya (2), Kyrgyzstan (1), Morocco (2),      
                          Myanmar (2), Namibia (1), Senegal (3), Tanzania (2)

o Training Institution : K-water  Academy

o Beneficiaries :

 - Government officials or engineers with sound experience in the water resources
    management related field

 

o Course Objectives

 - To understand various policies and activities in water resources; watershed policies,
    development and management, and etc.

 - To get the information of reasonable water facilities management knowledge and advanced
    technology and integrated insight.

 - To achieve practical training in learning through case study and problem solving project.

 - After finishing this program, participants get to know about overall operation, management,
    development skills, tools and knowledge and have action plan of their water problems.

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

  A. LECTURES

   - Overview of Water Resources in Korea

   - Comprehensive Understanding of Water Resources

   - Seawater Desalination

   - Water Quality Management in Reservoir

   - Water Resources Development & Management in Korea

   - Climate Change to Water Resources

 

  B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

   - Current Status of Power Industry

   - Information on Power Companies

   

  C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

   - Water Resources Operation Center

   - Nakdong Estuary Barrage

   - Buhang Dam Construction Site

   - Daecheong Multi-purpose Dam

   - Hyundai Motors etc.
