KOICA conducts a training program "Land & Housing Policy (Iraq)" for 20 participants from Iraq as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

o Course Title : Land & Housing Policy (Iraq)

o Duration : July 1 - July 16, 2010 (16 days)

o Venue : Seongnam city, Korea

o Number of Participants : 20 Participants from Iraq

o Training Institution : Korea Land & Housing Corporation

o Training Participants

- Should be government officials preferably in the mid-senior level of higher

- Should be public enterprises' officials preferably in the senior level or higher

o Course Objectives

 - To provide overall knowledge about the national land and housing management policy in

    Korea in order for the participants and the government officials to use the information

    to establish their own housing and urban policy, thus to overcome their domestic concerns.

 - To make the participants have more opportunity to understand the issue on housing

    areas in order to enhance professional experience.

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

A. LECTURES

1. Role of Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH)

2. The Compensation Procedure in Public Benefit Project

3. Korean Economic Development

4. The General Perspective of Land Policy in Korea, etc.

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

a) Brief introduction of the organization represented by the participant

b) Present status and future prespects of the urban policy in Iraq

c) Method of implementation and Procedure of Urban Project

d) Housing Status in Iraq

e) Governmental interventions in the Housing Market in Iraq

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

 - New towns (Bundang, Pangyo) constructed by LH, Bogeumjari Housing of LH,

   PPP Project "Meta-Polis" at Dongtan New Town, etc.

 - Hyundai Motors Co., Hyundai Heavy Industries, POSCO, etc.

 - Insadong, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, Non-verbal performance "NANTA", etc.
