KOICA-ICAO Joint Program on GNSS

KOICA conducts a training program "KOICA-ICAO Joint Program on GNSS" for 15 participants from 14 countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : KOICA-ICAO Joint Program on GNSS

o Duration : July 8 (Thu.) ~ July 23 (Fri.), 2010  (16 days)

o Venue : Seongnam & Cheongwon, Korea

o Number of Participants : 15 Participants from 14 countries

 - Antigua and Barbuda(1), Bangladesh(1), Bhutan(1), Ethiopia(1), Honduras(2),

   Kenya(1), Maldives(1), Nigeria(1), Pakistan(1), Sri Lanka(1), Surinam(1), Tanzania(1),

   Uganda(1), Zimbabwe(1)

o Training Institution : Korea Civil Aviation Training Center   

 

o Training Participants

- Have work experience in civil aviation in participating countries and recommendation

   from the government.

- Have at least 3 years of experience in the field of civil aviation and work in the air

   navigation aids.

 

o Course Objectives

- To provide detailed information on the GNSS signal, its processing by the receiver, and the

   techniques by which GNSS obtains position and time

- To provide an intensive overview of ¡®differential GNSS¡¯ and operation concepts

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

A. LECTURES

a) Session I : GNSS Principle

b) Session II : GNSS Error Analysis

c) Session III : CNS/ATM

d) Session V: Special Lecture

e) Session VI: Presentation of Country Report & Discussion

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

  a) Government policy and legal framework regarding GNSS

  b) Governmental organization GNSS

  c) Recent GNSS Status & Projects

  d) Major features / achievements

  e) Future plans, projects and directions

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Incheon International Airport, Cheongju International Airport

- Samsung Electronics, COEX, Kimch Museum, Daedeok Innopolis, Korea Aerospace

  Research Institute

- Korean Folk Village, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, etc.
