Energy and Resources Development (Mongolia)

KOICA conducts a training program "Energy and Resources Development (Mongolia)" for 13 participants from Mongolia as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Energy and Resources Development (Mongolia)

o Duration : July 15 - July 31, 2010 (17 days)

o Venue : Seoul and Seongnam, Korea

o Number of Participants : 13 Participants from Mongolia

 - Mongolia 13

o Training Institution : Korea Mine Reclamation Corporation

 

o Training Participants

- Middle or senior level public-service personnel working for energy & resource or mine business

 

o Course Objectives

- To contribute to the economic and social development of Mongolia  

- To enhance resource diplomacy via lectures and field trips related to policies and techniques

   of energy, resource and mine hazard reclamation that are being pursued in Korea

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

A. LECTURES

1. Korea' Energy Policy and Overseas Resource Development

2. Electric Power Industry and Renewable Energy in Korea    

3. Development of Unconventional Gas Resources  

4. The Status and Outlook for Petroleum Industry in Korea   

5. Introduction to coal and briquette Industry Status in Korea

6. The Status of Korean Nuclear Industry and Korean Experience of The First Nuclear

    Power Plant Development 

7. Challenges for Cleaner Fossil Fuels(CFF) in Korea

8. The Status & Policy of Renewable Energy in Korea 

9. Introduction to Mining Industry Status and Related Regulations in Korea

10. Human Resources Training and Management

11. Introduction of mine water problems/characteristics and Mine water treatment

     systems/case studies

12. Soil Contamination Remediation and Mine Waste Management    

13. Occurrence, Prediction of Mine Subsidence and Reinforcement 

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

a) Brief introduction of the department represented by the participant

 

b) Brief national information and General status of resources and energy development

c) Status of mining, mine reclamation business

d) General information and discussion topics for the companies willing to do the resources

    and energy development in the home country

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Donghae Coal Fired Power Plant, Ulchin Nuclear Power plant, Jangseong Coal Mine,

  Hambaek water treatment facility, Kangwon Land, Chuncheon Hydro Power Plant, etc

- SK Energy, Hyundai Motors Co., Gyeongju Historical District (Temple, Grotto),

  Gyeongju National Museum

- Gyeong-bok Palace, N-Seoul Tower, Insadong, Cheongwadae Sarangchae

  Exhibition & Museum, NANTA Performance, etc.
