Public Sector Training Development for SAARC Member States

KOICA conducts a training program "Public Sector Training Development for SAARC Member States" for 15 participants from 8 Countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Public Sector Training Development for SAARC Member States

o Duration : July 25 (Sun.) - August 7 (Sat.), 2010 (14 days)

o Venue : Seoul , Korea

o Number of Participants : 15 Participants from 8 Countries

   Afghanistan (1), Bangladesh (2), India (2), Nepal (2), Pakistan (2), Sri lanka (2), Bhutan (2),

   Moldives (2)

o Training Institution : Central Officials Training Institute

o Beneficiaries :

 - Be senior level government officials who are in the field of public HRD Centers or in charge of
   HRD policy and system in their respective country

-  Not have participated in the same KOICA training program during the past three (3) years.

 

o Course Objectives

 - To introduce Korean government employee training systems and policies

 - To promote the development of government employee training and HCD in the public
    sector through the exchange of ideas, opinions, and experiences in participating
    countries' government employee training

 - To foster cooperative relationships between the participating countries and the Republic of Korea

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

  A. LECTURES

   - Public Service System & Public Human Resource Management Strategy

   - Foundations of HRD & Needs Analysis

   - Korea¡¯s Regulatory Reform and Its Process

   - Policy Management & Case Study

   - New Governance & Anti-corruption

   - Education and National Development in Korea etc.

 

  B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

   - Country Profile and Socio-Economic Background

   - Current Public Sector Training of Participating Country

   

  C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

   - Saemaul-undong Central Training Institute

   - KAIST Office of University-Industry Cooperation

   - DSME, POSCO, GS Caltex

   - Yonggwang Nuclear Powerplant, Saemangum Reclamation Project Site.
