Korean Language - Beginning Level

KOICA conducts a training program "Korean Language - Beginning Level" for 20 participants from 9 countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Korean Language - Beginning Level

o Duration : July 25 ~ October 23, 2010 (91days)

o Venue : Suwon & Seongnam, Korea

o Number of Participants : 20 Participants from 9 countries

 - Egypt 3, Jordan 2, Laos 2, Moldova 2, Mongolia 3, Nepal 1, Philippines 2, Sri Lanka 4,
   Tunisia 1

o Training Institution : The Graduate School of International Studies, Ajou University

 

o Training Participants

- Students or Teacher related to Korean Language

- Government officials dealing with the Korean affairs

 

o Course Objectives

- To advance the participants' Korean language

- To promote the participants' understanding on the Korean culture

- To enhance the participants' awareness about Korea

 

o The program consists of 2 parts ;

 

A. LECTURES

1. Lecture - Korean Language Education

- Developing skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing in a balanced and
  coordinated manner

- Learner-centered approach: Class discussions and other study-activities involving
   students¡¯ active participation

- Levels : Beginning ¥°, ¥±

- Study on a specific topic or subject which is designed to learn language for daily life

- Reading vocabularies and sentences, speaking in correct pronunciation and
   enhancing comprehension

- Role play, pair work, small group activities, free discussion, writing and listening exercise
 

2. Cultural Education

- Various lectures and activities to have an understanding on Korea

- Special lectures on various subjects ranging from history, culture, economics, and diplomacy

- Students can participate in the practicum lessons of Samul-nori, folk Games,
   Korean traditional paper craft and etc.

- Familiarization with the Korean popular culture through songs and movies

 

B. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Unhyeongung Royal Residence, Folk Village, Hoam Museum, Everland, Icheon Ceramics
  Village, etc

- POSCO, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Motors Co., Hae-In Temple, etc

- Gyeongbok Palace, National Folk Museum, N-Seoul Tower, Watch a Non-Verbal
  Performance 'NANTA', Insadong, Namdaemun Market, Yoo's Family etc.

List
