Benchmarking of Trade and Investment Promotion Policy(Vietnam)

KOICA conducts a training program "Benchmarking of Trade and Investment Promotion Policy (Vietnam)" for 15 participants from Vietnam as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2010 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Benchmarking of Trade and Investment Promotion Policy (Vietnam)

o Duration : August 5 - August 21, 2010 (17 days)

o Venue : Seoul and Seongnam, Korea

o Number of Participants : 15 Participants from Vietnam

 - Vietnam 15

o Training Institution : Korea Development Institute (KDI)

 

o Training Participants

- Director-level government officials, scholars, or researchers with at least 3 years of work

   experience in the related field of industrial policy

 

o Course Objectives

- To provide participants with the knowledge and lessons on trade and export-oriented

   management strategies

- To identify Korea¡¯s trade and investment policies, and to discuss practical approaches in

    the application of Korean strategies on Free Economic Zone:

- To contribute to the development of policies and strategies for effective use of Vietnamese

    Free Economic Zones

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

A. LECTURES

1. Macroeconomic Policy for Stable Growth

2. Korea¡¯s Experience of Trade Liberalization

3. Foreign Direct Investment

4. International Trade

5. Human Resource Development

6. Knowledge-based Economy

7. Workshops for Strengthening Competency

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

a) Vietnam¡¯s economic development plans: Goals and strategies

b) Analysis of current status, major issues and problems of trade & investment policy in Vietnam

c) Vision including policy alternatives or reform plans

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- KOTRA, Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corporation, Incheon Free Economic Zone, Ministry of

  Knowledge Economy, etc

- Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone, Hyundai Heavy Industry, Hyundai Motors, POSCO

- Gyeongbok Palace, The National Folk Museum of Korea, Insadong, N-Seoul Tower,

  Cheongwadae Sarangchae Exhibition & Museum, etc.
