KOICA conducts a training program "Forensic Science Investigation (SAARC Program)" for 14 participants from 7 countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2012 as follows:

o Number of Participants : 14 Participants from 7 countries

 - Afghanistan 2, Bangladesh 2, Bhutan 2, Maldives 2, Nepal 2, Pakistan 2, Sri-Lanka 2

o Training Institution : Korea Police Investigation Academy

o Training Participants

- Police Officers above the rank of Senior Inspector or Major

o Course Objectives

- To share the experience of the Korean National Police.

- The Development of Scientific Investigation by learning from the Korean National Police

   experience.

- Relationship improvement among the Korean National Police and the participating

  countries¡¯ Police, enforcing crime prevention against Korean residents within the mutual

  cooperation against international crime.

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

A. LECTURES

1. Forensic personnel training and education in Korea

2. Forensics theory and practice

3. Scientific investigation of crime in Korea

4. Morphlogical analysis of blood and practice

5. Cyber Crime Investigation

6. Crisis negotiation and active listening techniques

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

a) Organization of the Police of each Country and the rank of the head officer of each

    department/division

b) Organization of Educational Institutions within the Police Types of educational institutions

    within the Police and their objectives

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Korea Coast Guard, Bang-bae Police Station, Police Museum, Seoul Metropolitan

  Police Agency etc

- Yeo-Su WORLD EXPO, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Motors Co.

- Korean Folk Village, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, etc.
