[Environment]Emergency Rescue and Response

KOICA conducts a training program "Emergency Rescue and Response" for 16 participants from 8 countries as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2012 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Emergency Rescue and Response

o Duration : June 14 - June 30, 2012 (17 days)

o Venue : Cheonan city, Korea

o Number of Participants : 16 Participants from 8 countries

 - Belarus2, Bhutan2, Cambodia2, Indonesia2, Mongolia2, Nepal2, Nigeria2, Peru2

 

o Training Institution : Korea National Fire Service Academy

 

o Training Participants

- National or local government officials, preferably middle manager, engaged in the

   field of Fire Service or Disaster Management

 

o Course Objectives

1) To review the Korean Fire Service and Disaster Management Policy,

    administration and services

2) To contribute policies and strategies for quality improvement in participants country

3) To provide a general road map regarding Disaster Management and Incident

    Command System of Korea

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

 

A. LECTURES

1. World-wide disaster and Korean 119 rescue service

2. Disaster and fire organization in Korea

3. Korean fire training policy

4. System of Korean rescue and respond

5. Disaster management policy and changes of global environment

6. Understanding Fire fighting equipment

7. Introduction to fire investigation

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

- Government policy and legal framework regarding disaster management

- Current situation of fire and rescue service system in participating country

- Status of infrastructure for fire and rescue service system of central & local government

- Distribution of jurisdiction regarding security related policy

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- National Emergency Management Agency, National 119 Rescue Service, Seoul

  Emergency Operations Center etc

- Hyundai Motors Co., Busan Fire Department, Busan Nurimaru APEC House,

  Gyeong-Ju Historical Sites

- Korean Folk Museum, NANTA, N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, etc.
