KOICA conducts a training program "Understanding Korean Language and Culture for Government officials" for 15 participants from Colombia as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2012 as follows:

o Course Title : Understanding Korean Language and Culture for Government officials

o Duration : July 2  ~ August 31, 2012 (61 days)

o Venue : Seoul, Korea

o Number of Participants : 16 participants form 9 contries

  - Nepal 2, Georgia 2, Moldova 2, Ukraine 2, Jordan1, Indonesia 1, Mongolia 2,

    Sri Lanka 2, Yemen 2

o Training Institution : Graduate School of International Studies, Ajou University                         

o Training Participants

- Government officials (Especially dealing with the Korean affairs)  

o Course Objectives

- To earn the participants' Korean language

- To promote the participants' understanding on the Korean culture

- To enhance the participants' awareness about Korea

- To foster participants¡¯disposition for a Korean export and develops participants¡¯

   capabilities to pay a role in actively promoting cooperative friendship between Korea and

   their respective countries.

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

A. LECTURES

1. Korean Language Education

2. Cultural Education

   - Various lectures and activities to have an understanding on Korea.

B. COUNDTY REPORT

- Introduction about your country.

- What impression did you get through field trip or study visit while you are staying Korea?

- After your training program on this program, please make a brief action plan to suggest an

   idea which can be modified and applied in your country reflecting your experiences in Korea.

- What would you like to make policies to foster friendship between Korea and your

  respective countries?

- Suwon city tour & Hwaseong Fortress

- Namsangol Hanok Village

- Korean Folk Village

- DMZ

- N-Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, POSCO, Hyundai Heavy Industry, Hyundai Motors etc.
