[Industry and Energy]Sustainable Water Resources Development & Management (Honduras)

KOICA conducts a training program "Sustainable Water Resources Development & Management (Honduras)" for 12 participants from Honduras as part of the Korean government's grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2012 as follows:

 

o Course Title : Sustainable Water Resources Development & Management (Honduras)

o Duration : August 16 - September 1, 2012 (17 days)

o Venue : Seongnam & Daejeon, Korea

o Number of Participants : 12 Participants from Honduras

 - Honduras 12

 

o Training Institution : K-water Academy

 

o Training Participants

- Government officials or engineers with sound experience in the water management-related field

 

o Course Objectives

- To understand policies and activities surrounding drinking water & water resources facilities

   planning & design in Korea.

- To get the information of reasonable knowledge on advanced technology and integrated insight for

   water facility development.

- To enhance the capability for water supply management through up-to-date theories and case

   studies on water including comprehensive understanding on water resources development.

- To secure the ability to make a safe and sustainable water development system in Guatemala.

 

o The program consists of 3 parts ;

2. River Restoration Project in Korea

3. Comprehension of Dam operation & management

4. Water supply & Sewerage Dev. & Mgt. in Korea

5. Economic Development of Korea & Global Water Issue

6. Establishment of National Policy & Plan for Water Supply

7. Water Supply System Design and Implementation

8. Pipe rehabilitation technology

9. Drinking Water Treatment Process Operation

10. Water Treatment Facilities (Pump, Valve & Flowmeter)

11. Non Revenue Water Technology of Pipe

12. Pipeline Leak Detection Theory/ Practice

13. Groundwater Development & Management

14. Water Tariff

 

B. COUNTRY REPORT PRESENTATION on

a) Brief introduction of the organization that the participant represents

b) Status of water resources and water supply in the country

c) Critical Issues & Counter Plans

d) Challenges & Lessons learnt in the water supply management

 

C. STUDY VISITS & CULTURAL EXCURSION

- Water Resources Operation Center, National Groundwater Information Management and Service

  Center, Baekje Weir, Gumi Water Treatment Plant, Geumsan water treatment plant, Yongdam dam, etc

- Hyundai Motor Company, Busan & Gyeongju City Tour

- Gyeongbok Palace, Nanta Performance, N Seoul Tower, etc.
