KOICA, Providing Safe Drinking Water for 100,000 local residents in rural areas of Senegal

- Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Project for Improvement of Water and Sanitation in Senegal(2015-2018, USD 5 million)

 

Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA) had a groundbreaking ceremony for the project for improvement of water and saniation in Thiès, located in the central area of Malicounda, Senegal on April 25.

In nine villages, KOICA is planning to build toilets, water fountains, water towers, sanitation facilities, tube wells, etc. in order to secure provision of drinking water and sanitation in Senegal. As part of the goal for SDGs, KOICA expects to contribute to reduction of disease incidence and increase in women’s quality of life through the project.
