ITCA graduates repair computer equipment for 720 schools

Students graduated from the Central American Technological Institute (ITCA) of Santa Tecla, as it is the case of Jose Alvaro Castro, form part of the team of 30 technicians and engineers who will be in charge of giving preventive and corrective maintenance to the technological campus and to the networks of 720 schools of the country that have computer science classrooms.

Jose Alvaro, 25 years old, studied computer technician at ITCA and he is one of the best students assured his employer at the Red Nacional de Soporte tecnico del Plan Nacional 2021 (National Network Technical Support of the National Plan 2021) that the authorities of Education, ITCA and the Embassy of Korea made official yesterday.

"Right now we are divided in groups. I am located in the area of Santa Tecla and I feel very been thankful because this project opened a space for me to work¡±.  Jose, who resides in San Salvador, affirms that "we are pleased because we can indirectly help with the development of the learning population".

He¡¯s satisfaction is valid when the program in which he works, and has it¡¯s headquarters in Santa Tecla, supports around 600 thousand students and more than 18 thousand teachers who use the equipment to which they give maintenance.

Other branches of ITCA, from where also support is given to schools, are in La Paz, San Miguel and Santa Ana.

According to Jose, him and other companions of the Santa Tecla HQ of ITCA are in charge to cover the maintenance of the ITCA centers in Chalatenango, La Libertad and Santa Tecla.

"Every day we go to a different center", Jose declared with an ample smile.

According to data presented by the Ministry of Education, the program of maintenance of the equipment reports an annual investment of more than $800 thousand.
