
Four
million dollars will cost a hospital to be built and equipped by KOICA at the
regional department of San Pedro. This is the result of President Lugo¡¯s visit
last June.
Korea
International Cooperation Agency¡¯s President Mr. Park Dae Won, visited Paraguay
yesterday. He met with 87 volunteers assigned to Paraguay and visited
INPRO, where one KOICA volunteer is working. Also, he has met Minister
of Children, Ms. Liz Torres.
The
authority of the Korean Agency announced that an important cooperation from
KOICA will consist of the construction of a hospital at the regional department
of San Pedro. This is the result of President Fernando Lugo¡¯s visit to
Korea last June.
Park
Dae Won had a tied agenda. He met resident of the Congress, Mr. Enrique
Gonzalez Quintana; Minister of the Technical Secretariat of Planning, Mr. Carlos
Sanchez Leon; and the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jorge Lara Castro.
After
consulted about the request of construction of hospitals in the interior made
by Lugo, he pointed out in process of negotiation. It will be of about
US$ 4 millions in building and equipment of a general hospital in San Pedro.
The exact location and its scope will be decided afterwards.
From
its establishment, KOICA invested more than US$ 18 millions in non-reimbursable
cooperation to favor Paraguayan development process.
The
visitor dialogued with the Minister of Childhood, Ms. Liz Torres, about the
future support fro the children in risk situation.
Park
Dae Won visited the National Institute of Challenged People (INPRO) at around
11:00 hs yesterday. KOICA supports INPRO through a volunteer who is specialized
in especial education, Ms. Kim So Jin, who recently concluded a project of support
that allowed the construction and habilitation of a children therapeutic facility
and support to the early stimulation for children from 3 to 5 years old with
several types of pathologies.
