KOICA designed a new approach to deliver World Friends Korea/ (WFK) volunteer program through E-volunteering service virtually and remotely since the return of all KOICA volunteers back to Korea due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Ethiopia.

Text Books preparation and distribution
Volunteers prepared Art, Science and Primary Education text books in Afan Oromo Language and distributed to Beke Primary School, Legedadi Primary School and Sebeta Special need education teachers training College. A total of Two Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty (2,920) text books were distributed to schools located in Oromia Regional State.
‘The Ethiopia Present, Coffee Fragrance’ text books were designed, printed and distributed to different Primary Schools and an Orphanage located in Addis Ababa City Administration and Oromia Regional State. The Coffee books were prepared in two local languages, Amharic and Afan Oromo accompanied by English and Korean Languages. Two Thousand (2,000) ~ Amharic version and Five Thousand (5,000) ~ Afan Oromo version total seven thousand text books were distributed to sixteen Primary Schools and one Orphanage located in Addis Ababa and Oromia Regional State specifically at Arsi Zone, Iteya, Adama, Bishoftu, Sendafa, Legedadi and Sebeta Towns.
KOICA Ethiopia Office held reading competition among students who received the Amharic version of ‘The Ethiopia Present, Coffee Fragrance book’. Total seventeen students awarded for winning the essay competition. KOICA gave award gifts along with recognition certificate in order to promote reading culture.
Videos preparation and distribution
Volunteers prepared E– volunteering videos on Korean and Ethiopian Alphabets and Primary Education. The videos were distributed to Hizbawi Serawit and Hibret Fire Primary Schools using 37 USBs for principals, co- workers and teachers.
