KOICA offers capacity building training in industrial relations
Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Ethiopian Office said providing relevant trainings is of paramount importance in solving industrial relation challenges in labor administration and paving avenue for sharing depth knowledge and enormous experience in the area.
Launching a training under the theme: “Building Government Capacity for the support of Harmonious Industrial Relations” on Tuesday, KOICA fellowship programs Deputy Country Director Lee Sunjo, said a project targets at building capacity for the support of harmonious industrial relations and future integration and cooperation of Ethio-Korea’s bilateral partnership in the labor and employment sector.
Ethiopian Ministry of Labor and Skill Advisor Fekadu Gebru on his part said that the training is helpful to create job opportunities for unemployed youth, increase productivity and enhance competitiveness.
As to him, the training is also crucial in solving the challenges of industrial relation in the country’s labor administration and paving avenue for sharing depth knowledge and enormous experience in the area of industrial relations.
It was learnt the training will stay for 10 working days and cover a lot of Korea’s industrial and technological related experiences.
The source indicated that apart facilitating the training, the agency has provided the higher officials with the ministry and experts of Ethiopian Forest and Climate Change Commission with two consecutive online capacity building training programs in 2021.
This training is a part of a three year project (2021 to 2023), being conducted as invitational training program for forest related experts in six African countries. So far the agency has along track record in providing capacity building trainings to Ethiopian public servants from multi sectors for nearly 26 years and more than 1,600 participants have received different invitational and in – country long and short term trainings, it was learnt.
