The KOICA Guatemala Alumni Club was established in 2006 and officially registered as a non-profit organization in 2012. The current board of executives includes five people including Jose Maria Garmendez, Chairperson and professor at San Carlos University Medical School, and 845 trainees who have participated in the invitation training sessions since 1991, are registered and managed as members of the alumni club. The board of executives implements donation of items for local communities, volunteer activities, and knowledge propagation according to the yearly plan while simultaneously promoting friendship among the members of the Alumni Club and expediting cultural interchange between the two nations.
