Ms. Han Jimin is working at Pre-school Teacher Training Center (PSTTC) on the field of early childhood education. She has been dispatched to Cambodia since September last year. Through the support from PSTTC, she is currently sharing her experience to 200 teacher trainee and also provide the classes on art, singing and physical education to 317 children from kindergarten of PSTTC. She is making impact to the early childhood education across the nationwide after the 200 teacher trainees finished their training.
Using the local language is a challenge for her, she need to spend twice of effort to prepare the class if compare her class in Korea. Receiving the positive feedback from trainees, students and kind support from host organization make me put more effort on teaching, she said. She committed to share her knowledge and skill on various type of education and contribute to the development of early childhood education.
Through this volunteer experience in Cambodia, it is not only make the impact to host organization but also herself. She will find the best approach to teach the children with difference culture background. It will contribute to achieve her goal of becoming a kindergarten teacher who has multicultural education experience. This is the core value of voluntary and how she can contribute in achieving the SDGs, goal 4 particularly.
Jimin’s message: I encourage everyone to have this eye-opening voluntary experience. Stepping out of your comfort zone might be challenging, but you will soon realize it is worth going through.
