The Hand Over Ceremony for the New Immigration Building was organized on 7 April 2022 at the New Immigration Building Site at Ban Dongnaxok, Sikhortabong district, Vientiane Capital.
The Project is a grant Aid Project from the Republic of Korea with a total budget of 8.6 million USD implemented by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The project consists of three main components including Construction of new Immigration Building, Capacity Building and Master Plan for the Immigration Development.
The ceremony attended by H.E. Leuitenant General Kongthong PHONGVICHIT-Vice Minister of the Ministry of Public Security, H.E. Moohong Im-Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Lao PDR, Myungjin KIM-Country Director of Korea International Cooperation agency, Vice Minister to the Prime Minister Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Planning and Investment, and relevant officials from both sides.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Lao PDR has emphasized that the New Immigration Building is a symbol of close cooperation and also a milestone in development of cooperation between the two countries.
The Vice Minister further detailed the importance of the new immigration building is to improve the working environment for the Immigration Headquarters Office.
