[KOICA provides hospital waste management equipment to COVID-19 treating hospitals in Myanmar]

On November 27, 2020, the Handover Ceremony for Hospital Waste Management Equipment was held. KOICA is supporting the Government of Myanmar’s COVID-19 response by providing USD 700,000 worth of hospital waste management equipment to the Ministry of Health and Sports in partnership with UNOPS Myanmar.
KOICA has been supporting Myanmar’s COVID-19 response since the onset of the pandemic and this donation to hospitals will help proper management of medical waste, preventing secondary infection from waste possibly contaminated with highly infectious virus.
The virtual handover ceremony was held at the Department of Medical Research with H.E. Mr. KIM Gunn, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs, the Republic of Korea, H.E. Dr. Mya Lay Sein, Deputy Minister for Health and Sports, H.E. Mr. Lee Sang-hwa, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Prof. Dr. Zaw Than Htun, Director General of Department of Medical Research and Ms. Lee Youn Soo, Chief Representative of KOICA Myanmar Office.
