KOICA through KAAN supported medical equipments related to COVID 19 in Methinkot Hospital, Kavre. The main objective of this program is to support the hospital in COVID response program via supporting equipments to increase the health services delivery of the hospital. Through this program KOICA-KAAN supported USD 16000 (Sixteen thousands USD only). This year KOICA- KAAN has allocated more than 50% of its total budget for COVID response activity. It’s the highest volume of the support till now for an institution since its inception. The supported medical equipments are 2 Patient Monitor, 2 Oxygen Concentrator, 5 Oxygen Regulator, 1 Cardiography CTG Machine, 1 Emergency Medicine Cart/Trolly, 1 BIPAP Machine, 5 Pulse Oximeter, 6 Digital BP machine, 3 Emergency bed/ recovery trolly (hydrolic) electric. Also, Dr. Byungchoel Kim, KOICA global doctor dispatched to Nepal Korea Municipality Friendship Hospital provided necessary training related to Covid 19 and share the experience of Korea how Korea responded Covid 19 in emergency situation.
It is expected that the program will be very much supportive to the hospital to deliver the health services with regards to COVID response program as well as regular health services. KOICA-KAAN hope that the patient flow in the hospital will be increased due to the supported advanced medical technology and the hospital will be a model Provincial hospital of Nepal. Recently, Bagmati Province and the Federal Cabinet have decided to upgrade the hospital to a federal level hospital. So, the supported equipments will be helpful for them in coming days too.
In previous year also KOICA-KAAN has supported 4 different government hospitals by providing safety/sanitary items for COVID response program. Similarly, it has supported needy people residing in Manav Sewa Ashram by supporting foods and health/hygiene items.
