On August 2 and 3, the 14 KOICA volunteers who are working in Trujillo and other regions of Peru celebrated the Korean cultural event “Connection for the Culture of Korea” at the César Vallejo Auditorium of the National University of Trujillo (UNT ).
This event was held to publicize Korean culture to Trujillanos citizens as well as the understanding of Korea and KOICA. The event was attended by the Director of KOICA Peru, Mr. Jung-Wook Lee, the Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Deputy Governor of La Libertad, Ever Cadenillas, Manager of the Office of Technical Cooperation and Promotion of Private Investment, Mr. Raúl Arroyo, International Relations Manager of the National University of Trujillo, Dr. Roberto Rojas and towns of the city of Trujillo.
The aforementioned event was held from August 2 to 03, two days full of activities to promote cultural exchange. The opening began with the Korean traditional clothing fashion show. After that, we had the presentation of Trujillo's K-POP teams. On the second day, the Korean culture exchange program was offered, among other activities, the teaching of artistic calligraphy of the Korean language, photoshoot with traditional Korean clothes, tasting of Korean food, etc. We also gave information about KOICA programs and scholarships.
Some 1,200 citizens from Trujillo participated in this event. We hope that through this event students who learn Korean at Trujillo will inspire their willingness to learn by experiencing Korean culture, but also the Peruvian government and Trujillanos will see Korea as a friend and continue to foster cultural exchange.
