Last 20th to 30th of September was the SDG International Action Week - # Act4SDG. The campaign aims to publicize the meaning of the SDGs through voluntary participation throughout the world.
As a result, on 20th of September our office together with the 'Ex-fellows and volunteers' carried out the campaign called "Save our planet, save our future" to improve the environment of Rimac River área which is the largest river in Lima.
42 people participated in this campaign including 8 KOICA employees, 14 ex-fellows, 11 volunteers from group 135, 3 people from KFHI (Korea Food for the Hungry), 4 officials from the Municipality of Lima and 2 journalists.
In the beginng, we listend to guidelines from those in charge of the Department of Environmental Education and Beautification of the Lima Municipality and we walked about 1.5 km along the banks of the Rimac River while collecting garbages.
In addition, to commemorate the International SDG Action Week, we made a promotion carrying 17 panels of SDG objectives and promoted its Sustainable Development Goals.
Within this framework, we KOICA wish to reaffirm its commitment to contribute to the development of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Peru.
We hope to increase community awareness and interest on environment and care of the Rimac River through the campaign 'Save Our Planet, Save Our Future'.
