Country Director Eunsub Kim of KOICAPhilippines, together with officials of the Department of Finance(DOF) and theBureau of Internal Revenue(BIR), led the ceremonial launching of the ElectronicInvoicing and Receipting System(EIS) on June 21, 2022.

The EIS is the key component ofKOICA’s US$ 7.29 million project on the “Pilot Implementation of the ElectronicReceipt and Invoice System, and Electronic Sales Reporting System”. Upon theEIS roll-out on July 1, 2022, 100 pilot Large Taxpayers would be able use BIR’selectronic web-based platform in the issuance and reporting of their invoicesand receipts. The system is expected to improve tax administration and make taxcompliance easier and more convenient for taxpayers.

“Theproject will help the Philippine Government strengthen resource mobilizationfor meaningful investments on people and infrastructure. The streamlined andenhanced tax procedures using the EIS would lead to better revenue collectionand increased taxpayer satisfaction,” said Country Director KIM Eunsub.

The EIS Data Center at the BIRHead Office was inaugurated on June 13, 2022. The state-of-the-art facilityhouses the various computer equipment and software provided by KOICA for theoperation of the EIS.
