TIMOR-LESTE

On 23 of August (Friday), KOICA and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries had a Handover Ceremony held in National institution National Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Timor-Leste (NIFA) in Liquica Municipality. Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Timor-Leste, Mr. Chinbum Lee, Country director of KOICA, Mr. Sikhyon Kim, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries Joaquim Jose Gusmao Martins, Jungyui Lee national advisor staffs and community members attended the ceremony.

The Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries expressed his respect to government of Timor-Leste, government Korea and KOICA. And the Minister considered that NIFA is an achievement in developing Timor-Leste's fisheries sector. Additionally, Country director of KOICA, Mr. Sikhyon Kim highlighted that the most important thing after the handover of INFA is maintenance and therefore hoping that Government will take into account the sense of Ownership by doing its best for ensuring operation and maintenance of INPA facilities. KOICA also hoping that this project will help with the improvement of malnutrition in Timor-Leste.
